Elbert, County reported Ishmael Estate’s possessions as including a dark bay horse, a red brindle cow with calf, one young dark cow with calf, one red cow, one young red cow and calf, one yearling heifer, one bridled steer yearling, one raw beef hide, two bedsteads, half set of wagon boxes, set rough irons horse gear and singletree, coulter plough, one ax hand saw and chisel, one powdering tut [?], one syth [sic], one cutting knife, one loomb [sic], one grindstone, 2 churns and keg, one sugar cane, wooden dishes, one cider churn, one half dozen pewter plates, one pewter dish, five white plates, one walnut table, one walnut chest, one pine chest, one chick reel and one cotton wheel, one flax wheel, two flat irons, one five gallon pot, one small pot, one pot rack, three feather beds, one bedstead, one woman’s saddle, two barrels, one pair of stirrup irons, and one set of old spools. Value of these personal belonging were estimated as $250. John McCurdy and Samuel Groves, administrators; heirs were John Vineyard, representative of George and James Vineyard, Ephraim Beasley, heir-representative of David and Joseph Vineyard, John McCurdy, representative of William Stephens and Matthew Blackwell, 27 February 1807. |

The final settlement of the Estate was recorded on May 14, 1807, as authorized in December 1806 and settled in January 1807. “State of Georgia, Elbert County. We John McCurdy and Samuel Groves Administrators of the Estate of Ishmael and Jane Vineyard deceased and several legatees, to wit: John Vineyard, James Vineyard, Joseph Vineyard, Ephraim Beasley, William Stevens [sic], David Vineyard, Matthew Blackwell, George Vineyard by his friend John Vineyard of the state and county aforesaid do submit and refer to the decision of Robert Kenady and Joseph Neal with the power of all umpirage all controversies, claim, competition, and right of whatsoever kind and we do oblige ourselves and our survivors in heirship to abide by and perform the order and determination of them the said referees as their umpires to be by the pronounced and hereunto annexed provided the said award or arbitrament be rendered in writing and hereunto annexed between the time present and the fifteenth day of January next ensuing the date hereof under the penalty of two thousand dollars besides performances. Witness our hands this twenty-seventh day of December 1806. John McCurdy, Groves, administers [sic] John Vineyard, Jas. Vineyard, Jos. Vineyard, Ephraim Beasley, William Stephens, Matthew Blackwell, David Vineyard, John Vineyard for George Vineyard. Attested by James Hodge and William Hodge. The award. We Robert Kennedy and Joseph Neal arbitrators indifferently chosen by the within parties having heard and understood their several allegations and proofs respecting various circumstances of the estate of Ishmael and Jane Vineyard decd. And willing to set them at unity and good order find the estate of the aforesaid deceased to be worth net one hundred and fifty-one dollars forty-seven cents which produces to each legatee putting in their claim the sum of sixteen dollars and eight three cents. We, therefore, order award and determine that the aforesaid estate be divided as follows, viz: To John Vineyard legatee and representative of George Vineyard, thirty-three dollars and sixty-six cents and James Vineyard sixteen dollars and eighty-three cents, to Ephraim Beasley legatee and representative of David Vineyard thirty-three dollars and sixty-six cents, to Joseph Vineyard sixteen dollars and eighty-three cents, to John McCurdy representative of William Stephens and Matthew Blackwell legatees thirty-three dollars and sixty-six cents. The above division is executed on the aforesaid estate so far as they have hitherto be distributed arbitrated and awarded this eighth day of January one thousand eight hundred and seven.
