'Jack' Pace of Yellville, former Marion County Sheriff

Raleigh Jackson "Jack", 82, of Yellville, died Thursday (June 5, 1997) at North Arkansas Regional Hospital in Harrison. He was a member of the Main Street Church of Christ, a retired Sale Barn Operater, and Marion County Sheriff from 1948 until 1962. He also owned and operated the Yellville Sale Barn. His hobbies included gardening, deer hunting, and raising beagles. Mr. Pace was born May 1, 1915, at Flippin to William Tomps and Martha Elzada Jackson Pace. He was married to Ethel Pace. Survivors are his wife, at home; three brothers, Rack Pace of Flippin, Brack Pace of West Plains, Mo., and Lucian Pace. Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Burns Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Earl Cook officiating. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery at Flippin. Pallbearers will be Pace's nephews, J. J. Pace, Jay Pace, Keith Pace, Mike Pace, Terry Lynn Pace, and Randy Pace. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. today. Memorials may be made to Main Street Church of Christ.
