Carlisle, Acting Surgeon stating that Pace's prior "injury to some of his ribs on both sides were fractured and also injury of the Sternum"...recent exposure has so impaired his general health as to incapacitate him for the performance of duty and...will not be able to resume his duties during his unexpired term of service."
