Unexpected results when well drilled on Homer Wallace farm
Mountain Home, Dec. 27.--While drilling a well on the Homer Wallace place at Three Brothers, Monday, Jim Martin sent his drill into a heavy run of lead ore at the 120-foot level. The vein of ore continued to a depth of 129 feet, where drilling stopped. Pieces of lead as large as wheat kernels came up with the cuttings on the drill.
