Taken soon after the homestead was built. Could possibly be Jonathan standing in the left side of the picture and one of his wives on the right side of the picture. Sansing Hollow Road ran in front of their home. The water pooled in the lower left corner came from a spring located a few yards left of the house and runs under the road.

This photo was taken on July 30, 2017, on a trip through Boone County by Rita Foster Wallace. The upkeep is probably done by the owner of a home next to the homestead.

This is what the area looks like when you drive up to the homestead. It is not obvious that there is anything there from the photograph but you can see the foundation of the home if you look closely.

This view shows a small stream running from the well house and flows a few feet from the homestead. I have wondered how big the flow was when the log cabin was first built.

Another view of the homestead. I did not go into the house. Flooring was missing and very unsafe.
