    • Chas. Gaulding of Nottinghill, the son of Andy and Margaret Gaulding, was born April 7 1878 on his old home place where he resided at death being 62 years, 1 mo. and 24 days old. His parents precedd him in death, his father when he was 18 months old and his mother several years hence. Chas. was united in marriage to Emily J., daughter of Jas. A. and Sarah Kyle in 1897. To this union were born seven children, two boys and 5 girls: Jesse, Socia Haskins, Gertrude Wallace, allof Hammond, Ana Foster, Mildred Lane of Nottinghill and Dorris and Hervil of the home. his wife passed away 3 years and 3 months previous. Chas. was converted about the 1900 and united with Oak Dale Missionary Baptist church of which he has served as deacon for many years. Chas. was supt. of our Evergreen Sunday School which he served very faithfully, and of which influence still lives. He has been a successful farmer and stock raiser,but owing to ill health hasn't done active work in recent years. He was a devoted husband and father and a a good neighbor who was always ready to lend a helping hand for the things that were for the betterment and upbuilding of his community, by his acts and his deeds he would say to his children, relatives and neighbors, follow on. Chas. departed this life May 31, 1940 and leaves to morn their loss, besides his children, 14 grandchildren, 3 brothers and two sisters; Jim and Albert of Okla. and Herbert of St. Louis, Polly Kyle of Nottinghill, Rosa Singleton of Calif., and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services were conducted Sunday afternoon and burial made in the Gaulding Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Southern Mo. Burial Association.
