    An Isabella man injured in a single vehicle crash on 24 March 2001 has died. Harlin Donald Wallace, 67, died on March 30 (Friday) at Cox Medical Center South in Springfield. The crash occurred about 7:15 p.m. Saturday, March 24, as Wallace was driving a 1994 Oldsmobile west on Highway 160, east of Theodosia. According to the report by Corporal E.M. Shockley of Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred as Wallace failed to negotiate a curve and ran off the left side of the road and overturned. He was taken to the Baxter Regional Medical Center in Mountain Home, AR, and then transferred to Cox Medical Center in Springfield, MO. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, April 3, 2001 at Clinkingbeard Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gale Wooten officiating. Burial was in the Thornfield Cemetery with military honors. He was born 15 June 1933 in Ava, the son of Aude and Audy (Hobbs) Wallace. After graduating from high school in Gainesville in 1950, he hauled posts and grain. In 1952 he moved to California to work at McClellan Air Force Base. He served four years in the U.S. Air Force. Wallace worked at many jobs including Chief Truck Line in Kansas City and Associated Wholesale Grocers in Springfield. He also owned a sawmill operation for several years. He was a longtime member of the Teamsters Union, Eagle Lodge, and the VFW. He is survived by one daughter, Shelley Wallace of St. Augustine, FL; one sister, Hildred Knight and husband, Mose, of Springfield; one nephew, Max Knight and wife, Janie, of Purdy; two aunts, Bessie Nieboer of Mountain Home, AR; and Lizzie Absher of Gainesville; great-nephew, Jackson Knight of Purdy; great-niece, Eva Jane Knight of Purdy; and many cousins.
