  	William died from pneumonia while traveling with two of his sons, David and Price, to Washington. He was buried somewhere in or near Baker City, Oregon. He married Margaret E Adkisson on June 14, 1850. They had fourteen children, one of whom was my Grandfather, David Monroe Hays. Wm Gary Hays, son of John Hays (Mother not proven), was born ca 1821 in IL per 1880 census and died in Baker Co, OR in Jan 1886 of illness occuring in a severe storm. He married Margaret Elisabeth Adkisson on 14 Jun 1850 in her parents' home near Springfield, Greene Co, MO. Reportedly he served in the military during the Civil War but no confirmation has been made. Fifteen children were born to this marriage. The burial site has not been proven.
