  	Franklin D. Blackwell, 78, of Brookline, MO, passed away in the Veteran's Home at Mt. Vernon, MO, on August 14, 2011, after a long and lingering illness. He was born in Monarch, AR, on November 21, 1932, to Elnor and Elizabeth (Owen) Blackwell. On August 27, 1955, he married Cleta Lefevers of Yellville, Arkansas. D. received his BSE and MSE from the University of Central Arkansas and his ED Specialist from the University of Central Missouri. He served his country in the U.S. Army from 1953-61, and then became an Educator, Cattle Farmer, and Real Estate Builder and Broker. He was preceded in death by twin daughters; his parents; and a brother, Robert. D. is survived by his wife, Cleta; two sons, Mike and Mark Blackwell; a daughter, Michele and husband Joe Dickerson; eight grandchildren; a brother, Owen "Red", and a sister, Ellen, several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held at 12:00 noon, Tuesday, August 16, 2011, at the Layton Cemetery, Yellville, AR. Arrangements have been entrusted to Greenlawn Funeral Home East Springfield, MO. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations are made to Glendale Christian Church 2110 Blackmon Rd., Springfield, MO 65809.
