  1850 Greene County, Alabama census, pg 304. Marriage-Joseph Cockrell signed the license. either witness or bondsman. 1825, Oct.11, Nash County, NC. Nancy (mother) and Vincent Cockrell jointly sold Green Eastman 297 acres of land laying on the waters of the Blumby. This land was a portion of that granted in 1780 to father, John Cockrell, which was land joining that of John Eastman. The balance of the 640 acres was sold this same date, jointly, by John Cockrell and Nancy. Nash Co., NC. Deeds, Nov. Term, pg 562. (Deed given to me by Onnie Cockrell, Mar. 1996) This proves that Vincent Cockrell was still in Nash County Oct. 1825.
