- Glenn Alva Shaw was the son of H. N. (Harve Newton) Shaw son of Robert Newton Shaw and Emily Jane Gonce; Glenn came by train to OK from Pontiac, MO, when he was 10 years old. He married Ada Francis Curry (buried at Citizens) in 1937; they had the following children: Tony & Roger (both school teachers). (1) Tony married Bernice Roberts of Douglas, OK, and had a son Tery and a daughter, Robin, who both graduated from Fort Gibson High School. (2) Roger married Judy Cavin of Fort Gibson, OK, a teacher at Fort Gibson public schools, and they had 2 daughters: Sandy and Stacy who graduated from Fort Gibson High School, and a son Jon who graduated from Ripley High School. Glenn was a master mechanic who learned his trade from his father who owned at a garage in Porter, OK, and working with his brothers. He operated for over 35 years the "Shaw Bros. Garage" which was a service station, garage, and wrecker service; he also drove a school bus for over 30 years for the Fort Gibson public schools. Shaw Bros. Garage was located on Highway 62 in the center of Fort Gibson. Glenn played the fiddle and played on KBIX radio with his sister Hazel Shore, and his brothers, Guy and Don. People would come to the Garage to hear him play. Glenn was a 32nd Degree Mason for 54 years and a deacon at First Baptist Church and taught Sunday School for many years.
