    Dock Smith was an employee of the Caddo River Lumber Company mill at Rosboro, one of the largest fully-integrated forest product companies in the United States. It manufactures a variety of products, including studs, veneer, plywood and laminated beams. Rosboro specializes in complicated truss and component designs for builders. It operates several lumberyards, wall panelization plants, and window and door manufacturing facilities. Rosboro owns and manages timberland located in the forests of the Pacific Northwest.

    Obituary for Dock Smith
    Dock Smith died at the Sacred Heart hospital Saturday evening following an injury from a fall. He was born in Drew County, Arkansas, November 2, 1888. [On] July 16, 1912, he married Miss Lulu Belle Spain at Wilmar, Arkansas. They moved to Rosboro, Arkansas, where they lived about 12 years. From there they came to Springfield on June 16 of this year to be with the Rosboro Lumber Company. He is survived by his wife, two sons, Lamar and Philip of Springfield, and two daughters, Martha and Pauline Smith. both of the home. One brother, R. T. Smith of Dermott, Arkansas, with two grandchildren, also survive him. He was a member of the Baptist church and was a Mason. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Phil Bartholomew chapel in Springfield, Rev. H. A. Wanvig officiating. The Masons will have charge of the graveside services and interment will be in the Rest Haven Memorial Park.
