- Birdie Ola Baker was born on 30 October 1887 in Gonzales, Texas, to farmer James Alexander "Jim" Baker and his wife Laura Lee Squires. She was the youngest of five children. Her mother died when she was five years old and she was raised by her step-mother, Cassie Gunn. Birdie married John Mitchell Carr on 5 November 1905 in Beaumont, Texas. They raised four daughters in St Louis, Oklahoma. Birdie Baker Carr died, 10 June 1964, aged 77, in Fort Worth, Texas, and was buried with her husband and daughter, near three of her siblings, at Earthman Resthaven Cemetery in Houston, Texas.
