Whitten, 74, of Grayson, were at 2 p.m. today in the chapel of Riser and Son Funeral Home of Columbia with the Rev. Joseph May officiating. Burial was in Adams Cemetery near Kelly. Mr. Whitten died Sunday morning in Haven Nursing Home in Columbia after a short illness. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Gracie Dunn Whitten, Grayson; three sons, Rudolph C. Whitten of Bastrop, Trowley J. Whitten and Gordon D. [sic E.] Whitten, both of Grayson; two daughters, Mrs. Clellon Blue of Vicksburg, Miss., and Mrs. Virgie Jones of Clarks; a sister, Mrs. Lessie Gough, Dumas, Tex.; 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
