  		Verluna May Dowell Mrs. John P. Smith was born April 22, 1849; departed this life at 12:30 a.m., June 17, 1924. She leaves an aged husband and five children, Mrs. J. H. Dowell of Lead Hill. Mrs. C. W. Lawhon of Zinc, Morgan and Barton Smith of Peel, Mrs. Corb Jones, Summit; one son, Burl, having preceded her to the grave four years ago. She was laid to rest in the Peel Cemetery. The large and sorrowful crowd present denoted the love and respect her neighbors had for her. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Ed Farmer. She had been a faithful member of the Christian church for 38 years. Mother, we miss you so much your place can never be filled, and we all hope to meet you in the great beyond, where sad parting comes no more. Mrs. Corb [Roberta Elizabeth (Smith) Jones.
