    Obituary of Hannah (Frederick) Wallace
    Obituary of Hannah (Frederick) Wallace
Mrs. Hannah Wallace, wife of J. T. Wallace, merchant here, died Christmas night of paralysis. Mrs. Wallace had been an invalid for 20 years, but the final release came very suddenly. We have known her for 10 years and never heard one word of complaint through it all. One day after attending her through a day of torturous agony we said to her, "and you have suffered like this all these years and yet you do not doubt God's goodness." With soulful earnestness, she replied, never for one instant have I doubted. His goodness, His mercy, or His loving kindness. Such faith is a supreme lesson and makes religion a living reality. She had been a member of the Christmas church nearly 38 years. All the way her walk was consistent because of solid ground. For 13 years she has resided in this place and through seldom able to be out of her home, there will be none missed more than she. She was a member of the W. C. T. U., as active temperance worker, one of the prime factors in the first temperance movement in this town. She leaves a grand record, with loving memories for the husband and five young men some who survive her. She was laid away in the Guy cemetery Thursday. The Christian minister from Pullman conducting funeral rites. For her the glory of gain for us the lonesomeness of loss. May the influence of her beautiful faith be an ever prevent comfort for all those who mournn for her, and to those who are left in the home now so more than desolate loss "mother" may the sincere sympathy of many friends be a balm soothing to this newly-broken tie of nature.
