    Funeral service for Alf Leroy Crutchfield will be held 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 29, at the First Christian Church in Claremore. Pastor Charles Ragland will officiate. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery under the direction of the Musgrove-Merriott-Smith Funeral Service and Crematory. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Tues. 1-8 p.m., and family will greet friends 5-7 p.m. Mr. Crutchfield passed away Sunday, April 26, 2009 at his home in Claremore at the age of 83. The son of Lue and Gladys Stepleton Crutchfield was born November 12, 1925 in Inola. As a young boy he was raised in the Willieo community, and attended Willieo school. Shortly after his 18th birthday he joined the United States Army. He served in the 63rd Infantry Division until being discharged in April of 1946. Upon his return home he married Imogene King on August 5, 1947 in Ft. Smith, Arkansas. He was employed as a truck driver for the O.E. Woods Lumber Company, and later by Hope Lumber in Tulsa. His hobbies included fishing, camping, gardening and keeping a beautiful lawn, and was known to love a good joke. He is preceded in death by his parents, and son, Clay Crutchfield. Survivors include his wife Imogene of the home, son, David Crutchfield and wife Adrienne of Monkey Island; daughter, Janice Gilles and husband Joe of Albuquerque, New Mexico; grandchildren, Matthew Crutchfield and wife Lynn of Lenexa, Kansas, Jeffrey Gilles and wife Julie of Temecula, California and Codi Jean Ruth and husband Tony of Claremore; great-grandchildren, Colin Crutchfield, Emalee Ruth and Bobby Ruth; sister, Alice Shaw and husband, Lewie of Inola and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Memorial contributions may be made to First Christian Church Building Fund, or Pocahontas Club Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 3552, Claremore, OK 74018.
