    • Piety Prudence Sansing Adkins was the daughter of Charles and Mary Sansing and was born in Bute Co. NC. Her husband Zaccheus F. Adkins died in York County, SC. She lived in York County, SC, and Henry County, GA before moving to Claiborne Parish, Louisiana in 1852. She and her children, Mary Ann Lewis, Elizabeth T. Merritt, William J. Adkins, Lemiah Christopher Columbus Adkins, and Jane Sansing all came to Claiborne Parish. Another son Lewis stopped in Mississippi and son Zaccheus F. Adkins died a short time before the move. His wife Nancy and his daughters Martha Jane and Sarah Prudence came to Louisiana with the rest of the Adkins families. Piety's daughters Lona Polina and Malinda F. Adkins both died in Henry County.
